The Cliffhanger festival in Sheffield has been cancelled due to the bad weather. Torrential rain has been falling across the county and Sheffield has been badly hit.

Richard Eyre, head of city centre management and major events at Sheffield said “We are disappointed to have to make this decision as we know many people were looking forward to the event, but staff and public safety must always be our main concern in these cases.”

The British Bouldering Championships, due to take place at Graves Park on 7 and 8 July, would still go ahead, organisers confirmed.
